1/2/2023 0 Comments Kramer ferrington nut![]() I didn't think the Kramer 5150 was ever really used to record. The 5150 was the main guitar for the 5150 album. ![]() A Strat for BOBW Then the Franky for the rest of 5150. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was all Ed.Īctually, I read he said he used the 1984 Kramer for Good Enough. The guy who restored his Marshall even said that pre restoration and post, there was not a discernable difference in the amps frequency response, but that at least it was in a less battle scared state with the proper value components back in place, and a fresh set of transformers installed. The wolf pickups are progressively brighter from his original tone, to the EBMM, then to the Wolfie which actually have a little more twang than the previous units, so he probably just assumed the 5150's pickup was getting to dark, or "fading" just as he said his Marshall had begun to do after changing the rectifier, but. Until the 5150 album, he never used a Floyd in the studio because he said they sounded too bright, and opted for his trusty old 50's Fender trem, but my guess is that as he got older and honestly started losing the highs in his hearing (The ones that go first with hearing loss) he probably didn't notice the brightness as much and the 5150 with the Floyd was fine to him by that point.Īs far as him swapping in a Wolf pickup.Probably mainly for the same reason. ![]() I have an old interview where he said he used the 5150 on some of the FUCK tracks until the first EBMM prototypes started rolling in. ![]()
